"Wonderful Land": a sample of our studio recording

Postby abel » 02 Oct 2016, 09:22

Hi all,

I hope you are in good health and spirit,

This is a short sample of our raw recording of "Wonderful Land".
It was done in Danny Dean's (our singer) studio with all equipment dating from the 40's era.
No processing yet, it's the raw recording (I hope our CD will come to light soon).

The objective was not to match the sound, but to re-create the ambiance of the time:

Hope you like it,

Blessings,

Hi all,

Glad you liked it Kevin.
If this is Kevin Romang, I would like to congratulate you on your engagement with Silvia.
I am confident that your union will be as harmonious as your wonderful music.
Please give Silvia my best.

Indeed, Jet Harris would have been proud of our bass player Rob Woolsey.

It is evident that the recording means used enhanced considerably the quality of our performance.

Our singer Danny Dean ( a Rockabilly singer, Cliff Richard for the occasion) has gone to a great length gathering pieces of his recording studio
from all over the world through auctions etc.
It's all analog equipment dating from the 40s / 50s.
The equipment has been previously used by great celebrities in the US and elsewhere (Aretha Franklin, Dionne Warwick etc...).
Jeff is a super sound specialist and has previously worked with Jimmy Page on his recordings.

Here are some pictures of the studio:
