They normally get just inside the top ten, as far as I recall. The same is usually true of Cliff's albums. Sadly, they usually drop down the following week. But not bad.

I think it's quite an achievement after recording for so many years.

Hopefully this mean there may be a follow up in a couple of years time!
I predicted it would go top 10. I think his highest so far was number 6 with Guitar Man? Not 100% sure though.

First week sale was 8,892. In comparison, the previous album -- which debuted at #8 in early June 2014 -- did 12,037 in its first week. Goes to show how the overall market has continued to shrivel in the interim.

Thanks Pat. Interesting sales figures. You're no doubt right about a shrinking market - though the lack of tv profile from Hank not being here in the U.K. to promote it is no doubt having some sort of an impact. When you consider how many people have to get a cut of the £9.99 - I'm sure it's not easy for an artist to make money with physical sales these days, unless they're selling massive volumes. I suspect an artist like Hank though is relying on physical sales of CDs and vinyl - his album wasn't even in the top 200 albums on iTunes. There are some exclusive 'commentary' clips on Spotify - worth checking out.

Most artists these days make most of their money through live shows as CD sales are sliding year on year (sadly) but Hank doesn't tour anymore he won't be making much money from the sales. I'm sure he's comfortable enough anyway as he's been in the business for such a long time.

To an old geezer like me, it still amazes me how few records you need to sell to get in the charts these days! :D

Good luck to dear old Hank anyway.. :D
