Hi All,

I recently added to my website the 'Backtrackin' feature which was first published in Shadsfax magazine in 1995. The Shads' first EP is the subject with session data and info.

Please take a look and watch out for more of the same in the coming months.

Hi, Tony,

Great stuff - will you be doing this for all your Backtrackin' features?

Recently, I embarked on a project to upload Shadows EP covers (front and rear) to this site, with the images being cleaned up and kept readable. The images for the EP "The Shadows" SEG 8061 can be found at:

[front] http://shadowmusic.bdme.co.uk/gallery/image_page.php?album_id=20&image_id=522and
[rear] http://shadowmusic.bdme.co.uk/gallery/image_page.php?album_id=20&image_id=523.

All the rear-sleeve notes are fully readable.

One extra little snippet of information that Roberto and I found out during a 2004 visit to EMI's Hayes archive) was that there was no delta-mono tape of the tracks used on this EP. There were written instructions from Norrie Paramor that the mono version should be created from a summing of the twin-track stereo master. This would have been relatively unusual with domestic material at the time, though it may have been more common with licensed-in material from overseas.

Keep up the good work...

JN
