2 LP re-issue.

Potentially of interest as with only five tunes per side, this must surely sound even better than the original 1 LP version? An with a gatefold sleeve too. Maybe we'll see more Shads albums from the 80s released like this?

It would be interesting to know, how many copies of the original vinyl
release in 1989 were sold at full price.
A lot of record shops had them in the 99p bargain bin after a few months, and
in multiple copies, suggesting Polydor had overstocks to clear at the time, or sales
much poorer than expected on this album?

I should hope so.

For the original 1989 vinyl album (as with the 1977 EMI LP "20 Golden Greats"), all the tracks had to be significantly compressed in order to get the full ten tracks on each side of a disc. This did not extend to the cassette or CD versions for obvious reasons.

Squeezing 25+ minutes on to an LP side rarely turned out well.

I have ordered my copy.

Yeah. Similarly, to my ears anyway, 'Bermuda Triangle' always sounds much better on the B-side of the 12" single of Argentina/Cavatina than it does on either the LP or the 7" single.

I have the Cliff Richard 2008 8CD/78rpm box set "1958-2008...And They Said It Wouldn't Last! - My 50 Years In Music". The vinyl re-issue of the original 78 rpm issue of "Schoolboy Crush"/"Move It" contained in this set, sounds very powerful and dynamic, which proves the best format for a single is still the 78 rpm record as it has the longest groove and highest playback speed.

Apparently this red vinyl edition is exclusive to Amazon. It does look nice if nothing else. Bet it'll sound good too!!!

I would think so too. By the way, I have just listened to the original 1989 CD again in years, but this time on a much better sound system. Bruce's rhythm guitar can be much better heard, although it's not as pronounced as on the original 1960's and 1970's EMI versions of the tracks.
