If you select our board index then look down our message boards you will find a section for Chords, Tab, Sheet Music & Lyrics. The War Lord is there along with many others.

Hope this helps - Iain

This is what I've played though it may not be 100% correct!

Just Google "Shadows Warlord Chords"................
The best site is https://play.riffstation.com/chords-tab ... DAwSnRJ6eY
In this it plays the tune and shows the chords as it goes along

The Riffstation chords are not what Bruce played though!

Riffstation -- https://play.riffstation.com -- is quite fun and OK for giving you a basic clue as to what's going on. However, it tries to interpret what it "hears" using basic major and minor chords only and that just isn't good enough. Try Chattanooga Choo Choo and it goes mad trying to interpret the diminished sevenths in the intro.

The only way to figure out what Bruce played is to listen to him carefully and, where you have the opportunity, watch his fingering. I'm amazed at the number of keen Shadows guitarists who can reproduce all the Hankisms, including the unintentional ones, but will play not-quite-the-right chords in Foot Tapper!

Our forum here on Chords, Tab, Sheet Music and Lyrics is an opportunity for us all to share what we know, or think we know. I encourage anyone who knows stuff to add to it and also to point out any errors you may find there. http://shadowmusic.bdme.co.uk/viewforum.php?f=26

I never cease to be amazed by the number of people who can play entire albums of Shadows lead parts accurately, but can't finger a simple chord to save their lives. At all the Shadows Clubs i attend, when the call goes out for ryhthm players, it's aways the same two or three volunteers. Do people learn backwards these days?

I think most players were originally hooked by Hank's melody lines so that's what they learned. I agree, chords and to some degree, the theory knowledge (just ear training really) that you get from knowing what chord fits behind the melody are an essential part of being a guitarist. I have to admit though that whilst I can play chords, I don't do it very often and rarely learn the rhythm guitar parts.

Yes they do... and the same is true of rock guitarists. They learn their favourite licks or solos mechanically from tab, but can't work out the chords!
