Looks to have been from The Morcambe and Wise Show.

Interesting, if minimalist, use of the DeArmond tone/volume pedal.

I take it that most people here have a way around YouTube's blocking of downloads..?

Yeah. Only went up today! Have no idea of the origin and this must have been from when the Morcambe and Wise Show was on ITV.

About a year ago I managed to download a short music video from Youtube without even trying. It was a total accident and to this day I have no idea how I did it. It's sitting on my hard-drive in my downloads folder and I watch it from time to time. But it's a mystery how I managed it. I've tried again and again to repeat the feat with others, but with no success!

The recording is from the Morecambe & Wise Show "Two Of A Kind" (Season 5, Episode 8) from 12. March 1966. It is the one and only tune the Shadows play in all shows of "Two Of A Kind".

Probably done with minimum camera rehearsal by The Shadows themselves. Look at the way they are uncertain about which camera has the red cue light and their eyes switch round to that camera seconds after the camera has been selected. For shows with musical acts, it was usual for the director to rehearse the tune during the day with stand-ins. The band themselves would come in during the late afternoon and possibly only get one dress run before the show. It was part of being a TV professional that you remembered the camera cues and made sure your eyeline was on the camera with the red light.

I think it isn't live. Look at Hank's right hand the first ten seconds. Also the lead guitar sounds not like a burns to me.

The ClipGrab software does the job on my Mac.
