The Shadows Banter On Happy Birthday To You

Hi,

Since the early 70's I have had a copy of "21 Today". In all that time I have attempted to decipher certain words said by the Shadows during "Happy Birthday to You".
All to no avail.

Does anyone have any idea?

Best wishes

Paul

Not sure what words you mean, but someone says to Bruce what shores and he says mines a gin and tonic.

And Bruce says after Hank asks for a Gin and Orange, "There's no chance of bit of orange juice there Hank, They tell me it's the...…………………………"

It's that last word. What does Bruce say?

Best wishes

Paul

It is Hank who says: Ah, I remember the time I landed on the shores...

Bruce asks: What shores...?

Tell you what though... it'd be a bit of fun for us to collectively try to transcribe the whole thing (if we can).

In another part of the recording, Cliff, asked what it's like to be getting old, says: Jet should know...

Another sequence has Jet saying: I'm on the wagon... (which gets a laugh, for what are now obvious reasons).

It sounds more like,"...tell Mr Bruce Welch..." to me, than, "they tell me it's the...". Still doesn't really make sense though!
