The Witches Twist

Many years ago, when I was around 12 yrs old, I was given a box full of old records by a family friend. Amongst them was a 1960 guitar instrumental called "The Witches Twist" by Mandrake and upon playing it, I recall it being very familiar.

Thing is though, I can find no evidence of it ever being a hit, so I'm now wondering why it seemed so familiar when I first played it. I'm wondering if it was perhaps used in a tv series or something similar. Does anyone here know the tune?

Hi Cliff.
Just searched on Google and quite a few details available.
Give it a look and you might find more info for your interest.
Cheers, Ian

Thanks, just goes to show how the internet is expanding. I had a look on Google a year or so back and found hardly a mention. Thanks to Google, I now at least know that The Witches Twist is actually the "B" side!

Every day is a school day as they say :-)

I sill have the 45 and like both sides. Just wish I knew why it sounded so familiar when I first played it all those years ago :?
