I hope everyone got what they wanted for Christmas. This was something I never, ever expected to get my hands on! An original, unworn, mint condition 20 Golden Greats sweatshirt from May 1977. I am over the moon! I'd seen pictures online, but never thought I'd own one, so when one popped up on ebay a few weeks ago... I bought it immediately! As you can see, it's too small for me - it's sized Small - and there's no way I am going to ever attempt to squeeze into it! What surprised me the most was that the detail (the guitar necks and lettering) is in brown velvet. I had always assumed it was merely printed on! Anyway - this is an absolute highlight of my collection and one of my favourite Christmas presents! Now it will be hung carefully in the wardrobe and admired from time to time! Merry Christmas!

I was just staggered to find one after all these years! They must have been made, initially, in about Feb '77 to go into the promo packs for 20 Golden Greats. Even if they were selling them in May as tour merch, there still can't have been that many produced. I never thought any would still exist... but I was wrong! I just love the brown felt/velvet detail. Here are some more pics.

The album that inspired me to learn how to play guitar. Still a very cool cover - EMI marketeers were on song that day...

You should get it properly framed it for display - like a signed football shirt!

Yes I was about to say, if that were mine the first thing I'd do would be to get a nice big frame for it!

I have a Strat scratchplate signed by Hank and I'll probably do the same with that.

That's a great photo. As a matter of fact, I recently acquired a copy of it. To be honest, I think Hank is holding a copy of the 20 Golden Greats album against his chest in this pic. It's certainly not the sweatshirt I've got... although, I admit, I thought it was at first!

It was indeed! One of the best! It's away in the wardrobe now, hanging up on a nice old wooden hanger! It would be a nice item to frame, but the problem would be... which side to display? Front or back? I think it'll just stay in the wardrobe for the time being. Here are the last four pics I took of it. Might as well post them.

Brian gave me the Rock Dreams poster after the 20 Golden Dates concert, at Liverpool, 14th May 1977.

The 3 album posters were from local record shops during the resurgence.
