One CD, or a double set?

That is to say, will the Marvin, Welch & Farrar songs (never mind Backscratcher) be included?

Jim - the Amazon listing indicates that this is a single disc. I would think it very likely this new release is just the tracks released as disc 7 of Cliff's "And They Said It Wouldn't Last" box set collection

ie:

1. Backscratcher (Brian Bennett band with Hank, John Farrar, Alan Hawshaw, Alan Tarney and Trevor Spencer on percussion)
Rest of the tracks Cliff with above band and Pat & Olivia on backing vocals:
2. Can't Let You Go
3. Have A Little Talk With Myself
4. Sunny Honey Girl
5. Minute You're Gone
6. Flying Machine
7. Day I Met Marie
8. Silvery Rain
9. My Way
10. Move It
11. Living In Harmony
12. Walk On By/The Look Of Love
13. Early In The Morning
14. Goodbye Sam Hello Samantha
15. Living Doll
16. Bachelor Boy
17. Young Ones
18. Congratulations
19. Rock 'n' Roll Medley
20. Sing A Song Of Freedom

So I wouldn't expect the Marvin Farrar set will be included.

Here is a photo of the 1972 all star line-up:

Nice and rare picture!

I don't think the Marvin & Farrar set will ever be released on CD, legally that is. The only nearest legal CD release is still the 1994 Italian Fremus CD "Dakota - The Classic Collection". The sound is quite good, but as source the original double LP was used.

What a Shame. I have to take back my "Finally!" and replace it with "And they still haven't included the full concert!".

I still sometimes see John Farrar being credited for playing bass guitar on these recordings, even in some liner notes of Shadows CD's ("Specs Appeal Plus" for instance). The only record I know of, on which he plays bass guitar, is on a couple of tracks on his only solo album from 1980.

Ah... the same listing as the Fremus CD "Oriental Gems"!

Still, worth buying for the extra information, etc.

Many thanks.

Again, a typical and sneaky way of marketing. First, release an expensive CD box, containing 8 CD's, a 78 RPM record and coin, then re-release all CD's. Up till now, three of the discs have been re-issued: the one with the rare B-sides, the one with unreleased material and now the 1972 Japan concert.

In one of the Dynamite International issues from 1973, there was a mention of a live single taken from this double album. I think the tracks are "My Way"/"Walk On By/The Look Of Love". Does anyone know if these are the full versions as on the double album or perhaps edits? Does anyone have this single, Ulrich maybe?

Sorry, Ivo, but no.

The Fremus CDs, released in Italy, were legal. Fremus operated fully in accordance with Italian copyright law and obediently ceased those operations when the law in Italy changed so as to be the same as in the rest of the EU.
