Does anyone have the chords for this song? OK, I have figured out the A D and E chords, but there are something more that Bruce is playing.

Best regards
Rune

I'd been told good things about this recording, but had never heard it until now. Corrr, spectacular! Forget Burns Marvins and Top-Boost AC30s! This era was probably the pinnacle of the Shads' sound, IMO. Hank's guitar sounds simply incredible; the tone of the Meazzi is heavenly. And what about that J200?

I've never heard this before without the 'party chatter' as Malcolm Campbell calls it in his book. Is this uninterrupted version actually on a CD somewhere or is this simply the original recording reproduced with vocal removed ?

Happy sound I call it...this recording is for me the ultimate shadsound....
I've this "voiceless"track for a bout 5 years in my collection and every time I listen to this...it give me goosebumps allover....

So a long time ago when the Gretsch vs strat "battle' was on I've recorded this soundclip...but couldn't publish it because we didn't have 4shared at that time.
That was really frustrating at that time believe me....
It's downloaded about 180 times sinds it was posted but not a single comment is written on my 4sharedpage....
Me on the left shads on the right ...

So comments are very welcome!

This recording was made with the first guitar on the left on my avatar, strunged 14 to 62 a 60's ac30 a Q2 ...cheap microphone and a portable MD recorder.

Yes, even 'Sir' Colin Pryce - Jones is of the opinion that this is the ultimate example of 'That Sound' (early era). It is the Shads original recording minus the overdubbed 'party chatter / noises'. It was prepared for The Shadows At Abbey Road - but wasn't used because Hank didn't want it on there because of birthday connotations vis - a - vis his religious beliefs. Curious - but true. It's great to hear these things - but do beware of the 'Spectre of Brian Goode'!!!!

Rob

On the original version of Happy Birthday, does anyone know exactly what the Shadows say?

I believe that "Happy Birthday to you" is based on the American song, "Good Morning to you", if the Shadows version was retitled, do you think that Hank could see his way clear to accepting it?
