Who dubbed tom-tom on "Wonderful Land"?

According to Mallcolm Cmbell's book "A Guide To The Shadows And Hank Marvin"

About"Wonderful Land". Basic track was recorded 12 May 1961.

Tom-Tom was overdubbed in July 1961,

then strings/horns in October 1961.

I wonder who dubbed tom-tom.

Toney,Brian, or another studio session musician?

Anyone who know it ?

Hi Eugene. It was Tony Meehan himself who performed the overdub duties.

Quite agree Eugene. The little snippet of the session where Tony did the overdubbing still survives on tape. Of course, it's unlikely ever to be issued anywhere. Tony can be heard (just slightly off - mic) discussing with Norrie Paramor exactly how it should be played. The big problem on the session was, that as soon as it was completed - the new 'track', it was immediately mixed straight to mono. Hence - on the stereo mix (not issued until 1990 I think) - there is no distinctive tom -tom from Tony.

Best wishes,

Rob :D
