Come Dine With The Shads!

I'm not normally an obsessive follower of "Come Dine with Me". But, a combination of dismal weather and the presence of #1 daughter (who is a fan of the programme) saw me watching a series of repeats (one weeks' worth 'shoehorned' into an hour) just now. The Shadows featured heavily via the background music of one episode - with "Mary Anne", "Foottapper" and "Shindig" (but no "Theme From A Filleted Place" LOL) all getting an airing.

Stingray for the fish course, followed by Captain Haddock, A Plaice In The Sun-dried Tomatoes and Bombay Duck.

Then an entreé of Wonderful Lamb and salad with French Dressing.

For dessert: Strawberry Fields and Banana Man.

There would have been some additional offal in the main course, but Something's Gotten Hold Of My Heart.

Washed down with Cerveza and Scotch On The Socks.

Some Rusk for the younger guests, of course.

Oh, and during the long morning wait, some Honourable Sugar Puffs accompanied by some Jungle Jam for Elevenis.

They're always playing Shads' stuff on CDWM.

On a slightly off-topic point: they're now showing the Australian version of the show on Saturday afternoons. They always refer to the starter as being the entreé, whereas I call the main course the entreé, as Jim has done, (above).

Regards, Martin.

The BBC played a cleverly-edited version of The Ventures'
Walk-Don't Run! on the trailers for that programme, but it didn't appear in the programme itself.
