Brian was of course Hanks original Christian name. Raises the question of, in which order & when he changed names I suppose. The story fits with my recollection of events at that time (as far as I remember!)
Cheers
Dick.

Maybe he changed his last name to Marvin first and was called Brian Marvin for a while and later added Hank as his first name Anyway, Brian is his middle name, so technically Brian Marvin is not incorrect . . . is it?
Interesting story!!
So, if this Wallace guy had played with them, would Hank have ended up playing bass, or would Bruce?

Hi all,
Yes Dave is correct in what he says, according to the book. But I also seem to recall reading somewhere that the Marvin name came from his maternal grandmother(her maiden name) so take your pick.
Cheers Brian

I thought it was well documented that the name came from Marvin Rainwater. I remember him headlining on Sunday Night at the London Palladium. No one had heard of him but I guess Hank thought that it was an interesting name to adopt...
