Hi All
A bit of Summer Fun.
Our little Grand-daughter Chloe, now in Sydney in Australia is besotted with Elmer the patchwork elephant and this is the nearest I could get to it musically.
Originally sung by Mandy Miller in 1956, this has even been done in a Punk version by The Toy Dolls.
Not this one though – its a Kids tune – OK?
Cheers

Great Job.
I was probably one of the first people to hear the Toy Dolls version.
They recorded it in a studio just up the street from my video shop and Olga brought me a copy on cassette and asked what I thought of it.
Next thing it was Number One.

Hi Ian - That's really good sounds like it came from the era.
I remember this one, and things like sparkie the magic piano, ugly duckling, laughing policeman etc all played on children's favourites by Ed Stuart on a saturday morning.
They don't make 'em like that anymore.
Cheers Phil

Hi guys
thank you for listening to this sound file which was really only done for our little Chloe - and then I thought "Why Not?" lol!
Didnt fancy The Toy Dolls version (never knew they were from the N.E.).
It WAS going to be The Ugly Duckling but I couldnt get the hang of the tempo etc for the BT.
Cheers
Ian

Why not indeed, Ian! A great follow-up to your recent "Teddy Bear's Picnic".

If you continue in this vein you could have the makings of a "concept album" - children's songs from days gone by? Phil's given you some suggestions so.........off you go!
