It’s been a while since my last video.
Holiday time followed by an unexpected 9 days in the Cardiac ward of Gloucester hospital.
I have an electrical fault with my heart which has been stabilised with medication.
In a few weeks I return to hospital to have “Shock” treatment which should reset the heart to a normal rhythm. Thank you to all the doctors and nurses at Gloucester & Cheltenham hospitals for their great care and for putting up with me.

“Mountains of the moon” is one of my favourite Shadows songs written by Brian Bennett and this version is based on the Final Tour (2004) version.
The BT is a combination of the Final Tour track & kohjikr’s (From YouTube) BT which he sent me some 4 years ago and glad I've finally got round to using it.

Recorded using Alesis quadraverb Q2 patch 0-27 directly into cubase via sound card.
Kinman FV-HMS pickups on bridge position.
The Video clips of The Shadows are from the Final Tour DVD filmed in Cardiff in 2004.

Video made with 3x Sony SR12 camcorder’s and edited with the cubase sound file in Sony Vegas pro 9

Hope you like “Mountains of the moon”

Cheers Phil

Hi Phill,
Mike Kilner here from the South Yorks Shadows Club - what a great soud and as usual - fabulous playing. I've been trying to get a really good backing track for Mountains of the Moon for ages now but nothing had the driving TomToms like the original, untill now WOW. is it possible to get a copy of the backing track from you? Please send me a PM what ever it costs.
Once again great track

Regards

Mike

Hi Mike - I've sent you a PM how to get in contact with kohjikr on YT.to ask his permission as it's partly his.
Many thanks for the nice comments ! appreciated.

Hi Ian - I understand your frustration with the dongle  - when I was in hospital I could see a strong WI-FI signal on my phone but no one is allowed the password. Duh.Thanks for trying !

Hi Roger - many thanks for the nice comments :D - Yes good to be home now and pick up a guitar again. Mind you the hospital food was good !

All the best... Phil

Phil

Glad to hear that you are doing well. Here's to your health!

I really enjoyed the track. I liked the fret noise as it added energy to a track that was already pounding along. Well done.

Michael

Hi Michael - Yes I noticed there's some fret noise so I left it on there makes it sound live.
Many thanks for the nice comments.

Cheers Phil

Yay, Phil!! Success!!
Down in Glastonbury and found Cafe with free WiFi!
So I Philled my boots :) with this one whilst getting a double shot Latte fix!
Superb job, as always. Y' know, I think that fret thing is meant to be there. IIRC its on the original and I thought it was meant to add "atmosphere" - the sound if Condors screeching, that kind if thing.
The sound is spot on too and that hybrid BT is the icing on the cake.
Well worth the £3 a cup!!
Cheers
Ian

Thanks Dave for your nice comments much appreciated I'm glad you liked this one.

Hi Ian - Glad you found some free Wi-fi ! I hope it was worth it. Lol.
Now the fret thing wouldn't of happened if I'd used flatwound strings but as it was on the original I had to copy it.
shame on me.
Many thanks for all your comments... Cheers Phil
