Hi All
Just back from an excellent 10 day break in Somerset.
Here's one of my favourite tunes of all time.
Written by our very own Tony Lowther, recently married and de-camped to South Africa.
Tony wrote this excellent tune as a musical tribute to his late brother Kevin, to whom Tony owes a debt of gratitude, amongst many things, for giving him “The Shadows 20 Greatest Hits” in the 80's and thereby kindling a life long love of Hank and The Shadows and similar music.
Its not a maudlin tune, although one can feel the “tears” in some of the phrasing – it bops on a bit and is a Celebration of his Life.

I am so grateful to Tony for the use of his BT.

Hi Ian,
i had a quick listen to the tune, great stuff. I can relate to the idea of brothers influencing love of music. My own brother, although not a big Shadows fan, influenced my taste in music as i was growing up. He listened to mainly 50's and 60's music and it rubbed off on me, it's through this style of music i started learning to play the guitar and developed my own tastes, including The Shadows. I am 36 now and he's 42, we have a great bond through the music we listen to which has made us great friends and i hope it continues this way.

My music is carrying on through our daughter, who now acts and sings and does Pantos and Musicals. She could once upon a time play guitar but I guess she'll have forgotten everything now. Her daughter now 3 can hold a tune too, so maybe yet another Generation will be musical.

Also good to see that going to Hankies hasnt had too profound an effect on you!! lol!

This was a song written and recorded over one night - it all came at once. I love your version of it - played with care and emotion. It gives me the feeling of listening to one of my tunes with objectivity - for I get too close to know. A great gift.

I think its more "thank YOU" for this excellent piece of music and for being more than generous to me when I nagged you for the backing track.
I love the feel of the music, the way it flows from the quiet, reflective opening into a Wham Bam Shadows style main theme, a cracking Bridge section and then on to the Finale in two keys - not a bad effort for 2 mins 36 seconds.
If its played with care and emotion its because I "feel" the sense of the music and what was intended and if that has come out in the playing, then I'm happy.
I'm glad that you think that I did it justice, not only for you,but for Kevin also.
