"Panhandle Rag" - Nov. 19, 1955

Hi all,

This is my version of Panhandle Rag, a tune that I discovered yesterday on Youtube played by Buddy Merrill in November 1955 on the Lawrence Welk show.
I liked it and wanted to give it a try putting my riffs along.
I bought a very good BT from a Fiddle website and combined it with the Youtube Big Band audio of Buddy Merrill's performance.
It worked pretty well and it feels like I am backed by the Welk orchestra.
What you hear is the direct sound from my P.A. and my guitar amp recorded live with the Zoom Q3HD.
I find it amazing that I didn't have to add any reverb or any effect to the sound and the video except the fade in on the first frame.
The sound is very loud in the room and still there is no clipping (on my side).
After so many years of bad recording, I am finally getting some decent recordings. I am always a decade or two behind anyway.
(I think the guitar sound is a little bright though).
I hope you like it despite the pick always moving forward between my numb fingers (You can see that I am always pushing it back with my Major finger).

Blessings,
Abel

Nice playing Abel, and by the way the guitar sounds fine to me!

Hi all,

Glad you liked it.
The brass section backing makes it sound better than it is.

Blessings,
Abel
