Help! (title and artist needed)

Does anyone remember the background music used in this wonderful 1964 Pathé short?

It's the first piece (one minute long) I'm most interested in, and not so much the blues which starts at a minute in.

That first piece was used as library music (as far as I can remember) in cinema shorts and on television of the period. I'm sure it's British rather than American, but it does have a bit of a Ventures feel to it.

Beyond me, Jim.

I thought there was a some similarity with the guitar work in We're Through by The Hollies, but not close enough to wonder whether Tony Hicks had been involved.

I know a library music enthusiast. I'll run it by him and see whether he knows.

Best wishes - I

And his reply

It's certainly familiar - probably from the Southern library and more likely than not by either John Scott or Roger Roger. But not sure of the title.

Hope this helps, if only a bit - Iain

Thanks, Iain.

The quest continues.

I'll probably try Trev Faull next.
