FRENCH RENDEZ-VOUS

Pierre Teodori's album "Influences" album was released in 2006, and is one of my favourite CD's. The Shadows recorded two of Pierre's compositions, 'Farewell My Lovely' and 'A Heart Will Break Tonight' - the originals of both tunes are on this album.
This track, 'French Rendez-Vous' has never been covered - as far as I know - by anyone. To my ears its a great tune with some lovely chords and an 'interesting' bridge in a different key. For the guitarist (well, me at any rate) it's more challenging to play than it first appears - but once you've got started - -.
No BT existed so I used my BandInABox to create a version of it. It's not exactly the same as the original but good enough for Fun. Any mistakes with the chords therefore are down to me and Mk1 ear'ole, as is the playing interpretation.
Brason Strat - Kinman FVs - Elixir 11's - Boss compressor - Q2EFTP patch 36 - Joyo AC Tone - to PC. All this doesn't quite get Pierre's amazing guitar tone which is quite strident yet sweet, with bags of compression and sustain.
I hope you enjoy.

A super tune Ian. Pierre Teodori has written some smashing melodies.

I'm impressed with the backing and your playing and guitar sound are really good. Very enjoyable

Hi Phil - thanks for listening. I didnt know that BG and the Local Heroes had covered it. Must try and cop a listen. Even so, they didnt release a BT, unlike with their later CD, so I had no choice but to sweat it with BandInABox. lol!
Hi Roger - Yes PT writes pretty good music. There are a couple more on that CD that I'd love to cover. Maybe one day? He has a stonking tone on his tracks - love to know how it got it. Mine was as good as I could get with limited kit. Thanks for the comp on the BT too - coming from someone who makes such good ones himself, thats a big compliment. Thanks
Ian

Hello Ian - Idon't have any insight into how PT gets his sound but I was of the opinion that on "The Asian Way" it sounded rather like a burns.

That's why I used my Marvin on my version of that track (neck pickup).

Hello Roger
Ah! You may well be right. I know he has a few Strats ( like the sparkly candy paint job one he had at Shadowmania) but I know he has a white Burns, probably a 60s job. That might be part of the tone/sustain puzzle.
Looking forward to your next CD with Asian Way on it.
Cheers
Ian
