Another year has gone by without our good friend Brian Robinson, one of the most memorable characters on these boards. My friend Roka and I made this recoding (Roka plays) a few years ago to commemorate Brian's passing and I think of Brian often, as I'm sure many of you do. So, on this occasion, at the end of the Old Year and the beginning of the New, I would like to post this song once more, to pay my respects to the memory of Brian Robinson.

That's a nice thought Bojan and well appreciated here.

A well deserved reminder Bojan and a very suitable melody.

I thought that the vibrato effect on the lead was a little on the heavy side but it was very well played.

Brian was my only link to former glories in Newcastle under Lyme Municipal Hall...

It's good to remember him...

Brian would be pleased to know that his Burns is still being cherished and played - although sadly not to the same standard as he played it.

Thanks guys. Roger, the heavy vibrato effect in the beginning was meant to mimic the sound of the pan-like flute instrument used in Mike Oldfield's movie arrangement of Tarrega's Alhambra, which we used as our musical setting.

That explains it Bojan - I'm not familiar with Mike Oldfield's movie arrangement of Tarrega's Alhambra.

Good to remember Brian ...

This is a very lovely tune and the best I ever heard was John Williams classical guitar treatment of it which is masterclass stuff...
I have the tune on LP record in a box set by Williams but have not got a player anymore.
