Valse a Bamboula (Gypsy swing tune)

Hi all,

I hope you are all doing Ok.

I wanted to play "Valse a Bamboula", a manouche tune of Angelo Debarre, and I came up with this
live mediocre version I guess, as I haven't touched the guitar since I posted "True Love Ways" last July.
I'll start guitar practice everyday starting tomorrow for certain (God willing)!

Lots of misses due to the pick slipping backward between my finger (most of the misses occur while I am repositioning the
pick while playing, watch my right hand, it's a nightmare).
I have to find a pick that has a super grip. Please let me know if you have spotted one.

I still hope that you will like some of it:

Blessings,
Abel

Hi Abel

I drill a series of small holes in my picks, one in the centre surrounded by a further five in a pentagon pattern around it, it works well for me no pick slippage

If that's when you're out of practice Abel you'll scare when you get back on form. I reckon Hank Marvin should see that. it was excellent.

Have a look for these: https://www.stringsdirect.co.uk/accesso ... more-p9075

Hi all,

Glad you liked it.

Artyman,
the holes don't always work for me as the material is still slippery.
Thanks for the tip.

Len,
Ordered just now, thank you.

Blessings to all,
Abel

Hi Able. Considering you haven’t practiced since last July your playing was amazing! I love Gypsy Jazz and have two Macaferri style guitars. Re picks. Have a look at Wegen picks. They are - or at least we’re - hand made. He has picks of various thicknesses. Each one is contoured to give a very comfortable grip. Many Gypsy Jazzers use them. I use the thickest one for Shads numbers.
