"L' Indifference" (another Manouche)

Hi all,

Hoping you are in good health and spirit.

I couldn't resist playing this Manouche when I discovered it Friday, even though it is above my head.
It's such a beautiful composition. The version I heard was by Angelo Debarre (unreal player).

I hope you will like it despite the shortcomings.

Blessings,
Abel

I find it quite unbelievable Abel that you have received no replies to such a superb example of your skills. Shame on them all, I think it's absolutely brilliant.

All the very best, and blessings too,

Len

Hi Len and all,

Glad you liked it Len.

When I hear the speed at which the original is played by Angelo Debarre, I think I might
need another lifetime to just get close to that.
It is a very addictive style and that's why Hank himself got hooked to it.

Remember that this is a Shadows music related website and Manouche is not really related except for
the fact that Hank Marvin has espoused it a few years ago.

Also, files are posted here mainly to be enjoyed and if necessary, constructively criticized.

For example, Michel, in the French "Fans of the Shadows"'s site, pointed out to me that in the beginning of the song, in the main theme, there is too much resonance in the lower string and that it was due to me keeping my fingers on the A and D strings while playing the arpeggio run.
He was right. I tried it again, this time lifting my fingers right after hitting the notes and sure enough it sounded much better.

I think I will do one more Manouche and then back to Shadows music. I have a couple of ideas
on some tunes / songs that have not been posted by the members yet.

Check my latest acquisition:
It's the lower end of the brand, but I think I will be happy enough with it:

Hi all,

I forgot to mention that it was President's Day here in the US when I bought the Gretsch from Guitar Center and it was on sale,
so I got it for only … $399.

It seems that luck comes (sometimes) with retirement!

Blessings to you all,
Abel
