The Shadows - Barney's Blues

This is a tune by The Shadows that I wasn't aware of until a couple of months ago.
I don't know if they actually recorded it and the version that I heard on Youtube is possibly from a live performance on 208 Radio Luxembourg.

If anyone has any information regarding this number I would be interested to hear.

The format of the arrangement is similar to "Nivram" but this predates it.

I hope that you enjoy my version.

Hi Roger,

I just listened to the Shads version on YouTube, but I enjoyed your performance better than the original (Probably the recording?)
except for your choice of bass (maybe too dry and bright).

Very well done.
Roger: How did you get the sound, with a Strat neck pup?

Blessings,
Abel

Hello Abel - thank you for your kind comments. Yes the recording of the Shads from Radio Luxembourg is hardly fair to them.

I found the sound of the bass for Jet was difficult. In places it sounds like the slides that he is putting in are played on a double bass but the sound on his solo section
leads me to think that it is an electric bass.

You're correct in the assumption that I used the neck pickup on my Strat - I also rolled the neck pickup tone down a little.
