Galloping Guitar by The VHBL cover The Spotnicks
Tribute to Bo Winberg & Bob Lander
The first titles recorded in Sweden are already a small revolution, by the density of the whole, based on a powerful bass / rhythm guitar support unusual in most recordings of the time; on which the solo guitar stands out perfectly, but with a drum sound that is a little too far back; this may be the definition of the Spotnicks sound of the beginnings. This peculiarity is obvious on titles like ‘’ Galloping Guitars ’’, ’’ The Rocket Man ’’ or ‘’ What by I Say ’’ where percussion sounds almost non-existent.
Good listening
