Alentejo - Lockdown Session 5

Different weapon this time. I fancied a change, so dug out the acoustic. For me this is a rare venture into the late sixties Shadows material. Writing credited to Peter Vince. I believe he owned a property in the Alentejo region of Portugal, and that the house was called... Alentejo!

Enjoy Lockdown Session 5. Or not. Tell me what you think. :)

Nice performance of one of my favourite rarities.
Well done, Justin.

Nice playing, Justin. I practiced this one (on electric guitar - I didn't have a really good acoustic until the 2000s) when I got the album in 1968.

I've always sensed a certain similarity between the melody and cadences of Alentejo and those of the standard song Out Of Nowhere.

Thanks, gents. :)

Jim, I certainly see what you mean. Definitely some similarities there. Lovely tone on that jazz guitar. Not seen a lead picking style like that before, either. Not quite classical; it's almost a bassist's hand position.
