Hi Alan. What a great number! Not heard it before! I loved the tempo change for the chorus. Well played and a wonderful guitar sound.

You play very well! This song was written by H Rosén, R Hammarström and L Carlsmyr, who were members of a Swedish Shadows-style guitar group called The Violents. They recorded it in 1961. I have it on an album entitled Alpens Ros, which was released in 1967, one year after The Violents disbanded. You can listen to the original version here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G1ZPa75eKGE

Hi Alan.
A wonderful version and well played. Anaconda was writhen by Hasse Rosen, Rolf Hammarström and Lennart Carlsmyr, all member of Yhe Violents. They had more tunes with snakename, for exempel Cobra, Anaconda and Mamba, all writhen by the members. And there is BT for all of them on Roger Paulssons site.

2007 I bought an album of the Violents, also named "Alpens Ros", with a slower version of Anaconda and with another ending (although I like the 1st version better, because I grew up with it). A web search is not so easy because there is such an obscene rap number with the same title. So I had to build my backingtrack myself.

An interesting original, I must try and get a cd of the group.

The Violents' biggest hit was probably Alpens ros (Alpine Rose), which got a lot of radio play even in Finland. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GRyQc-U0WG4
The band used to accompany a singer who called himself Jerry Williams. His biggest hit with the Violents was called Number One. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6Yvkfm4pWok
