Turn Around & Touch Me

My attempt at this wonderful track from "Rockin' With Curly Leads", making use of Phil McGarricks excellent backing track. Try as I might, I just couldn't get the hang of using the volume pedal, so in the end I just put some distortion on the sound and had a bit of fun!

That's good effort Cliff as it isn't an easy one by any means. :)

Thanks Dave. I really wanted it to sound more like The Shads version, but try as I might I couldn't get used to using the volume pedal with my foot, so had to abandon that approach and go for something different. Seems I must learn to walk before I run ;) .

Don't beat yourself up because you don't think you can use the pedal like Hank, it is by no means easy. I have used a DeArmond 610 since my stint with Dave Berry when I needed to learn to play Jim Sullivan's fabulous solo in 'The Crying Game'. It's largely all about 'feel' and not something that can't be taught very easily, you get better at it the more you do it, which I know is an obvious statement. I found it easier to master by imagining I was singing the tune and transferring the vocal to my hands and feet so they work together. :)

Thanks for the encouragement Dave. I'll stick with it and see if it gets any easier :)
