IN THE LONG RUN

Hi Shadow fanz! This tune by the Eagles, In the Long Run, was really a huge challenge. I wanted to do all the slide harmonies and all the other guitar bits, thinking it sounded like there wasn't that much involved. 'Wrong!!!' It took over three solid weeks and twenty-two tracks and almost ended up in the bin on many occassions. In the end I was happy enough with this mix and wouldnt dare try tweeking a thing for fear of desaster!
The plan was to have a real pro video done and after checking out a few options, gave it a miss, or it would lie around forever. So I decided to just post it as it is.
All the guitar work is on my 82 Strat, through Boss compressor/sustainer, Super overdrive, Stereo Chorous and ZoomRFX. There's no rhythm. The bass is Fender Precision and the drums are Groove Agent.
I hope you enjoy my version of this Eagles Classic.

Hi CC

This really is a brilliant effort of what you found out was not an easy song to produce.

I don't think any Eagles song is a simple as it first seems,I know from when I did Lying Eyes.

Being a huge Eagles fan,I can appreciate the work you have put into this and as such,I am not
going to criticise it in any way.Suffice to say I enjoyed it immensely.

Absolutely well done,Hotel California next?????

Hi Charles - This is BRILLIANT ! a really full sound every part played perfectly.
It put a smile on my face as soon as I heard the first few seconds. :D An amazing achievment which you should be very proud of.
Had to save this one, and I'm sure you enjoyed this one even though it was a lot of hard work. - but well worth all the effort.

Cheers Phil

Charles this is fabulous

I'm a big Eagles fan - so much so that I regularly get tickets for Talon, the best UK Eagles tribute band.

Surely Charles, it's time you took a leaf out of Phil McG's book and produced some BTs for the rest of us to play :) Mind you, I don't know if I'm up to the standard for this tune, but I'd love to give it a go.

Phil

Thank you very much Alan, Gary, Ian, Phil, Risky, Mike, Ron and Ann for your really good comments. I really wish I could have done the video I had in mind, maybe one day, I also wish I knew enough to do what Phil Mc is doing so I could sell my BTs, another project that also came to a sticky end!! Maybe also oneday
Mean time, thanks again, I'll just keep recording and posting. I'm busy with another cool tune, nowhere as complicated as this.

Cheers CC

Hi Charles

It's very obvious how much work you have put into it. 22 Tracks - Wow! I thought I had too many with Audacity when I did Black Saturday with the other clips and that was only about 4 or 5. However, I am a novice with recording. You're a real pro.

I can't add a lot to what has already been said. Congratualtions on an excellent rendition of the Eagles number. I like the Eagles too. Excellent production and well played.

Regards
Len
