A great tune and a really nice performance, Nick.

Your mastery of the pedal is obvious. Not many players are prepared to persevere with it sufficiently.

Could you not get flatwound strings for the intro guitar? ;)

Thanks, Jim! When I win the lottery I’ll get a guitar with flatwounds. I always loved that sound.

Nick, I don't mean to hijack your post and your really lovely interpretation of this beautiful tune, but when Jim mentioned the intro with flatwounds I remembered recording this song with our friend Jay Bee (John Barry) from Denmark about 20 years ago. I had heard his version and suggested that he send me the soundfile so that I would add the intro and do the background chords on my Rickenbacker 330/6 with Pyramid flatwounds. I think Jim is absolutely right. It made a huge difference. I am posting a short clip just so you can hear how it sounds.

Regards,
Bojan

Hi Nick, great job of an all time favourite of mine.
Really got hooked by the Tammy Wynette version featured on The Beach Boys "Nashville Sounds" DVD.
Keep 'em coming!
Best wishes.
