WHAT'LL I DO . . .

Written in 1923 by Irving Berlin, featured as the theme for British TV series 'Birds of a feather' and the 1974 movie 'The Great Gatsby (Robert Redford)

Normally a 3/4 timing, this interpretation is in 4/4 time.

The same comments apply as 'put your head on my shoulder.' I still enjoyed it though, I love those old standards.

Thanks Norman,
Don't worry you're not alone in not being keen on slow ballads, many don't prefer them as such.
I have a preference for them I think, brings out the 'sound' more IMHO. Hate to never have been privy to Cavatina or other 'slowies' by Hank.

Appreciate the comment Norm.

Hi Bob,

What a nice rollout of some quality oldies, I feel that music generally is more to do with individualistic interpretations and preferences, this type of number does seem to suit the ease and style of the period!

Trying to get "That Sound" is completely different and perhaps for many an all consuming interest to the point of missing out on being more relaxed in sounding like themselves and allowing things to flow over them a little?

Gary

That was well put Gary.
In the end result it's music to hopefully put one in a certain mood I guess.
Glad it appealed to you.
