I'm afraid it doesn't. The instruments all stick to each other in the gooey mix, and don't allow the guitar to stand out as it should.

It’s so subjective. I suggest it works if you like it and not if you don’t. I do like it and the harmonies in this song are sufficiently unusual for their own sake to make this work for me. I don’t miss the words. There are a few bits that might repay a bit more work but I’d say it’s worth persevering. Great concept.

Hi Steve,

Whilst I’m familiar with the EQ’ing principals you are talking about, Bob is adding instrumentation and removing vocals from the original mix and effectively working with a BT that can only be EQ’d as a whole, I think that he has done a pretty good job of this and the guitar comes through pretty well given the limitations.

As Bob clearly indicates these things are experimental and believed the end results justified posting, your critique is perfectly valid if this how you perceive it, but it may be more helpful if and I’m sure he would be willing to take on board any suggestions you may have, given the obvious limitations.

It seems you have some working knowledge and with these things being fairly subjective, it would be interesting to get a fresh prospective, rather than being negative why not throw a few ideas out there or even give specific reasons as to what BT ranges/instruments are affecting it in your opinion?

Regards

Gary

Olivia's Memorial Service is this Sunday in Melbourne. The loss of such a beautiful soul, ever smiling.
