Bit of laid back jazz.
Theme from "Picnic" starring Kim Novak and William Holden. Anyone remember this 1955 movie?

I enjoyed that and apart from the good guitar sound and excellent use of trem, the trumpet solo parts were lovely. I mention that because I'm currently working with my guitar synth and playing a bit of brass and it caught my ear, in a good way. ;)

Is that the Kim Novak who was in a duo with jack Good? (As Mo Foster says 1n 17 Watts?, "a cockney accent helps)

Hi Ray, you've got me on that one, being from down under mate. Is 'Kim Novak' rhyming slang over there or something?
Anyrate what did you think of the song, I'm sure it won't be everyone's cup of tea but you never know.

Thanks Andy, glad it appealed to you. It's very laid back lounge music, there's a place for everything I guess.

Hi Bob,

This is very well played and well arranged.

OK I get it now ,,,,,, it's an age thing you know!

Thought the trivia behind it was interesting!

Bob
As well as being a session bass player (and playing for for The Shadows), Mo wrote a book called '17 watts?'* filled with funny reminicinces of British rock musicians about their early days and of working in studios. The introduction is by Hank. It was later re-issued with the title British Rock Guitar.
'Kim Novak' isn't rhyming slang. Mo quotes Clem (Cattini) as the origin of the joke. To quote from my (signed) copy of the book:-
Kim Novak and Jack Good teamed up in a band called 'Novak and Good'. Then Tommy Steele joined and it was Steele, Novak and Good.

* The book was called '17 watts' because that was the quoted power of a Wakins Dominator amp (with the same output valves as a Vox AC15). Mo's school band discussed this awesome power "But will we really need 17 watts?"

Well done. One of my favourite tunes. Heard Joe Brown play
it on the radio many many years ago liked it ever since and finally got it when it was included on the Joe Brown
Gold album a couple of years ago. Nice Style Bob. More in that style wouldn't go amiss.
