Originally a UK hit for Johnny Kidd and the Pirates, if I am correct, then a huge Australia hit by Normie Rowe here in Sydney around 1965.
I think it works ok this way as an instrumental ?

You're right, it works extremely well.
(In fact I did this years ago - but I wouldn't dare post it!)

Really enjoyed that There is a great instrumental version by the Epitones
worth a listen. I'm pretty sure it's on youtube. Its on the Last Horizon CD. A brilliant
Cd with 15 other great tracks complete with backing tracks. Worth you checking out on Leos Den
as there are some great numbers I am sure you would make a great job of.

Thanks Norman,
Couldn't find a video on The Epitones for 'Shakin", are they a UK band?

Hi Bob,
I've already commented, but here's some information on the Epitones:
https://www.rootsmusicreport.com/review ... epitones-1The CD is available via Leo's Den in the UK, but they have some short samplers:

Had a listen to the sampler, loved the first track, hated the other two.
(I'm guessing that the first one wasn't a cover.)

I think you will find the first one is a cover of the 1993 Brian May version?

You are correct, I had to look it up as I'd never heard of it.
So they're all covers ... disappointing.

Thanks Gary,
'Till there was you' has a little 'something' added to it which is always better than a direct exact copy but doesn't doesn't put jam on my toast I'm afraid (you heard that first here !).
Still don't know how my "Shakin" instru compares to anyone else's at this point but, I'm trying.
regards
Bob
