I' M THE LONELY ONE - Live Video

Hi All,

Hope everybody's doing fine.
I was so glad to have been able to get an NTSC (US) version of the DVD - The Final reunion. Simply perfect. It couldn't be better.
A real delight from the first to the last note. I am spreading the word here in So. Calif.
I was also so happy to hear the song: "I' M THE LONELY ONE" which I hadn't heard since the 60's and had forgotten allabout.
It's Cliff & the Shads favorite and incidently, it has always been my favorite too.
This is my live rendering of how I feel like to play it .
I was lucky to find the backing track at Jeff Daniels site @ http://www.backingtracks.co.uk/
Don't know why the video came out squeezed, but that' s ok, it makes me look thinner.

Or on my website site at: http://akhineche.com/IM_THE_LONELY_ONE.WMV

I hope you like it.
Blessings,
Abel

Hi Abel good to see you... I was thinking that you looked quite well as well as slimmer... your usual treatment of these things is as usual so distinct and very you and a great example of your playing

Roger :)

That was great. I really like that number and especially your treatment of it.
The colour of your guitar looks suspiciously like that of my Mexican Hank Marvin Signature. Due to my failing eyesight I wasn't able to discern whether or not there was a signature on the headstock.
Is it that model by any chance? If so, why doesn't mine sound like that :?

Hi all,

Glad you liked it.
I was afraid it was too soon to post it as the tour is still ongoing.
Do you all know of Jeff Daniels BTs?. I just discovered it on the web as
I was searching for a BT.
Eric (Ecca) kindly downloaded for me the 1998 remaster of the song by Cliff and I
was going to make a BT out of it, till I found out about Jeff Daniels. I guess he is
a UK person.

Mikey, (are you Mike Hill?)

Unfortunately it's not a Hank Marvin signature, but a basic Mexican 50's Classic fitted
with (57/62 vintage reissue pups). I have 11's on it and that's about it.
I play the mid pup through a Yamaha MagicStomp programmed by our friend Charlie Hall, a (very cheap) small EQ pedal to fatten the sound a little bit, and the Ariab by our late friend Roberto Pistolesi.
The amp is an old Roland JC-120 I got for a pretty low price. It would sound way better
through my Fender Hot Rod Deville 4X10.
I wish Mr. Marvin would revisit his fabulous original mid pup sound and teach us how to get it.
And also I wish Cliff and the Shads would schedule at least a short US / Canada tour for their numerous fans here.

Blessings to all,
Abel

Hi Abel,
No I'm a Crocker not a Hill but I do know a Mike Hill although he's not into guitars. How weird is that :?: :!:

Cheers and thanks for the info on your gear.

IF (and for sure not) they did an NA date, should do in Canada...far more fanz there than in the USA, I'm afraid.

I've previously said if the Ventures can fill a 5000 seat casino several times, Cliff et al, could do more.
But, probably not enough to justify the Xpense of 1 or 2 concerts.

Fantastic set of backing trax....but I'd prefer a set of midi files for same track list.
Those are probably more time-consuming to do tho. :(
But, those I'd pay for.
