Hi Guys

Well here goes with my first video on this site - After about 21 years as a country music guitar vocalist - 1967 to 1988 - I actually gave up live music in 1988 because I started to lose my hearing and I am now about 60% deaf and have to wear hearing aids all the time. but about 4 years ago my Ukrainian wife discovered my Gretch Country Gent guitar in the attic and said "give us a toon" so I played a bit of the Shadows" to which she replied "what group did that" so I told her "it was the Shadows" two weeks later she dragged me screaming and struggling into what was then the Three Counties Shadows Club in Malvern and I have been hooked on Shadows music ever since. Due to my hearing problem I cannot always hear all the right notes especially on muted parts plus when I am on stage. but to me I just get enjoyment in playing the bits that I can hear. The Shadows Community have provided me with some very good guitar mentors - Trevor Lyon. Neil Hide, Jimbo. Bob Golding just to name a few and without whose help I could not have got this far

The tune I have chosen is Wonderful Land and the origin of the backing track is unknown, Guitar is a Burns Marquise with upgraded pick ups with everything being fed into a Tascam DP 02 Porta studio before finishing up in that little Marshall amp thats in the video

Sorry no muted parts in the tune but it sounded like I was playing underwater at the time

Be gentle with me as I am a Shadows Community Video Virgin

Dave
