I can't say that I was a big fan of the Beatles in their early days, although as time has gone by I've grown to like and appreciate most of their output especially those from the first part of their recording career.
I'm a sucker for tunes with good harmony and they certainly did well in that department on "This Boy". My liking of this tune has obviously influenced my decision to record a version of it, but I'm still not sure whether it has been successful as an instrumental.
I hope that you enjoy it and I'd appreciate any thoughts that you might have.

Hi Roger.
I've always loved the work of the Beatles and I think you have done a good job with this one. It certainly took me back to my student days in Liverpool in the 60s. My mates and I used to sing this three-part harmony whilst strumming our cheap acoustic guitars. Another favourite was Nowhere Man.
Well done. I loved it

Many thanks for your replies. The forum is a perfect way of finding what others think and it's good to hear that you enjoyed this version.
I made the backing track and used two guitar harmony parts plus the lead line. The harmony parts were recorded with a Burns and the lead with a Strat.

Hi Phil - glad you liked it. As you say the Beatles numbers do bring back memories (as well as all the other great artists from that period)

Hi all.
Why do I need an Audio Codec file ? to listen to the tune on my laptop. Never seen this one before. Always played back without things popping up telling me I need a Audio Codec file.
Regards Geoff.

Very nice recording Roger ... for me the first 6 or 7 albums were what I liked best must have been the vocal harmonies and the freshness of them
