VOX AC4-TVHS Demo
Inspired by Dave's demos of the Blackstar 1W amp I've got myself moving and recorded these ....
So what's an AC4-TVHS I hear you cry
It's a VOX AC-4TV Hambidge Special - a standard AC-4TV which has been Amandered ......
The AC4-TV is an all valve 4W practise / home use amp which is switchable to 1W & 1/4W output. The input is based on the ECC83, however, Amanda has modded mine to have an EF86 front end as well !! including a bright switch as per original AC15
The result is a great sounding amp which won't annoy the neighbours but delivers the right sound.
I recorded these in a couple of hours last night - they're not perfect (playing wise or recording) but they give a taste of what the amp sounds like. Setup was Strat - Boss FV500H - EFTP Magic Stomp - AC4-TVHS.
Kon-Tiki, MoM & Peace Pipe were recorded on the EF86 channel with bright switch on, amp driven to point of breakup - backing track UBH
Cavatina was recorded on the ECC83 channel - clean sound - backing track mine.
The bright channel is a little bright (Amanda did worry about scaring the local bat population) and could do with some cut although there's not that facility on the amp - I may re-mix and take some of the treble out on the desk when I get the chance, but I wanted you to hear this as is - so there's no EQ on the guitar. Right click and "save as"
