SOMETHING

Hi Shadows and Beatles fans. I must admit I've not recorded a thing for months and I found this tune hidden, half done in my files. I must have tried several times over about two years to get it to work and as things go, I loaded it yesterday and everything just came together.
I used my usual recording set-up only this time I added some flange on one of my guitar tracks and overdrive on all my lead tracks. There's a total of ten guitar tracks plus Bass and Drums
I hope you enjoy my version of this Beatles Classic, 'Something'

Hi Charles,
Great playing. The flanging works really well in my opinion. Nice to hear more from you. A great BT too. Hope you have fully recovered from your ailment over Christmas now.
All the best
Brian

Well Hello CC
Glad to see you on here!!
Marvellous track and quite different to how I expected it to go.
Great sounds - loved that warm sound in the bridge section - and superbly played.
Lovely BT too - I can tell there is some "one-fingered Orchestra by you in there - it must take you ages to do all that!!
Brilliant!
cheers
ian
(not speaking for him (he can do lots of that for himself - lol) but I reckon our Ecca will love this!!)

Hi Brian and Ian, Thanks for the good words, much valued! This was indeed a load of work, especially on the timing, but I won in the end! Now dont go listening to the original, you'll hear I'm still a bit out of time, but no more thanks! No Ian, alas no strings at all. I think it may be the amount of tracks I used
There's two rhythm tracks,(far L&R) and I was pretty surprised that they're hardly audible as without the four lead tracks they actually sound too loud. Then there are yet another four lead fill tracks with little bits here and there, one of which, quite far left with quite a dominant flange effect. I was very tempted to do a Hammond instead but in hind-sight I'm quite satisfied with my choice.
Thanks again and Ian I sent you mail!
Cheers CC

Hi Charles,
Superb !!

The guitar tones are spot on just the right
amount of distortion. Brilliant arrangement and couldn't have been played better. Loved it. Phil

Absolutely masterclass....
