Sleepwalk (Ampworks + psp608)

Here is another example of the sound you can get through Korg Ampworks (which I discovered and purchased through my good friend and fellow Hankie, Ecca , or his evil twin  I don't know exactly which). I use an altered AC15 setting, with maximum mids and minimum trebs and bass. The VST plugins I used were: psp608 for echo, psp Tube Warmer for . . . erm, tube warmth, the phenomenal Wow and Flutter plugin, and a plugin called "Imperfection" to add the necessary "dirt" (not only to please Dave Robbo ;) ). At the end I added just a wee bit of plate reverb. Again, the thing to remember here is that this sound file was made with only a very cheap amp emulation thingy (Ampworks) and a guitar. All the rest is computer software. Of course this is not an arrangement for gigging (although it could be), but for us bedroom players, I think its pretty good (even if I have to say so myself ;) )

Have a listen and tell me what you think.

I'm sorry, I should have mentioned that the echo patch I used was made by Piet Verbruggen and Jacob Heijer (Echotapper.nl)

Lovely Boingy.....
The ampworks remains my favourite tool.
I play through various amps at the Hankies and far and away I'm happiest with the Ampworks into the PA as per last night with ferocious dirty filthy versions of Sausage,Flingoleum,FBI etc.

Thanks Ecca. Yes I have seen your Sausage (especially the slow motion version) . . . it's nearly as famous as your knees

Bojan,
Just had a listen to your Sleepwalk, sounded absolutely spot on. I use a Korg Toneworks for live work which I assume has the same Amp Sims in it, but I don't think I can get it sounding as nice as that. Must keep practising

Cheers M8

I know what you mean Ecca, I still go around the house barefoot, but it's only warm (did I say warm? HOT) during the day . In the morning and evening hours it's already pretty chilly. I always catch a cold at this time of year, but I can never let go of summer so easily.

Thanks Pete, I think the trick is to set the amp and cabinet to AC15 and then additionally cut the bass and treble and boost the mid tone setting. That's what gives it the early Shadows sound! Of course a good guitar, quality pickups, and heavy strings also help. :)
