THE TVS THREE discuss THAT SOUND

Hi Everyone

In response to many queries on how we achieve a sound so close to the originals we have put together a two part series examining aspects from the early 60's up to around 64/65.

The video was recorded at Spike Studios early this month and it has taken me a while to edit and collate the information given to me by Paul and Gary.
Paul has also prepared a very interesting THAT GEAR sheet that may help some of the people interested in this area.

Hope you find it interesting.

PS: all the music you hear is from the TVS3 echo machine.

Cheers

Brings it all together nicely Spiro and of course we have heard a lot of it on here before. I think the tape recording medium also should be bourne in mind as well as the valve and harmonics side which would have been Abbey Rd at play with their wonderful gear of the day. Great to see you three gents and a really useful helpful piece for others to gleen information from.

Another thing I'd like to mention whilst you were discussing the original Strat 34346 you mentioned it has a thin sound to it.

I wonder if anyone recalls in the Cliff and Shads Reunion DVD extras there is a comment made by Hank whilst calling his guitar tech out to adjust the low strings on a strat he mentions that back then he had a low string setting on the bass end and it rattled a bit or words to that effect and he was trying to set the guitar up to recreate it.

Just wondered about that because I have tried this at times with my strat setups and it seems to bark a bit more. Any thoughts ?
