Hi
I thought I'd do a bit of recording before the end of the year. This is where I'm at since starting to play in March last year and hopefully by the end of next year I'll be a lot better :)

Yes, I agree, you have come on really well in the last year or so Rosemary 8-)

You should work on your slides, bends, hammer-ons and pull-offs(loads of examples on youtube) to make it sound more fluent, especially on 'Cavatina'.
They are a bit tricky at first but make an immense difference to your playing and sound in a very short time when you practice at it.
Your tone has improved greatly too.
Hugh.

Hi Walt and Hugh
Thanks for listening :)
Hugh: I've really been trying to figure out the secret of those bends and effects in 'Cavatina' but now we have our own local 'club' I'm in contact with great players who can play it properly so I should learn a lot faster now :)
I did a little practice session on 'Wonderful Land' before our weekend meeting too

There are as always a few glitches and I also have to get my Strat set up because I unknowningly put 10s with thicker bass strings on it. I thought it hadn't affected the USA Strat and only the Mexican Strat but the bridge is too high on the USA Strat. I just thought 10s were 10s. Oh well. :)
Best wishes

Well done Rosemary, your playing is coming on very well in such a short time, the more you play/practice the smoother/better/easier the tunes will become, keep up the good work

Hi Rosemary, considering the short amount of time you've been playing I must say that I'm impressed with what you've achieved! Just keep at it, it will only improve as you go along!! Determination and dedication are all you need!
Cheers CC

Hello Rosemary,

Not bad in such a short time that you've been playing,kiddo...lol! :D
I was kinda the same when I started at the age of 10...been practicing ever since and still getting nowhere..haha!
Just kidding...keep up the good work Rosemary!
You'll see, after some years the hard work and effort will definitely pay off..you can be sure of that.
One thing I would advise though is to practice as many "scales" as you possibly can.
It sure helped me a lot to coordinate my finger setting and get accuracy as well.

Cheers,
Ernie

Hi Rosemary,

It's a real pleasure and a treat to see you performing with such an ease.
We don't see women doing this very often as we see them here in the US in Surf music where
they play from lead to bass and even drums.
One thing I can tell you is that you look at the fretboard much less than I do and that's very encouraging.
Bravo. Superb performances.

Blessings,
Abel
