SOMEWHERE OVER THE RAINBOW

Hi everyone! Here's my take on a really beautiful song, 'Somewhere over the Rainbow'
I hope you enjoy my arrangement. The lead plus harmonies was done on my 82 Strat, rhythm on a borrowed Gibson J200, bass on my Fender Precision and drums on Groove Agent. This is a repost from over a year ago
Please enjoy and any comments are very welcome!

Hi Charles
I love your arrangement and your work with the pedal, it's played with feeling first class :-)
Greetings, Roland

Really nice Charles - on all counts and good arrangement. I like the key change as well as good rythm and bass parts.
Incidentally, Bruce sent me one of your older posts - "Faithful" (the M,W & F song) - a real knock-out.

Best regards,
Jeff

Thanks a million Roland, Jeff/Bruce too and Nels. I truly appreciate your good comments, I'm glad you enjoyed that.
Jeff, Faithful is a really beautiful song, when I first bought the LP in the 70s I just couldn't stop listening to it! Everything was so perfect, from the brilliant acoustic intro to the unequaled harmonies, what a group! I just had to learn it. I played this at the Friday night preShadowmamia party in, I think '07 and when I spoke to Bruce on the Saturday night after the main event, he told me that that recording was actually done on an 8 track tape!! What an amazing sound!
Anyway, getting back to this post, thanks again,
Cheers CC

That was a lovely version Charles - I much prefer the more original style arrangement rather the Eva Cassidy one.

The foot volume works so well on this tune and you didn't overdo it.

Hi Charles,
A really beautiful instrumental of this song - Very smooth playing and great arrangement.
I agree with Roger the volume pedal is very effective and not over used.
The wife is out so I can crank it up on my studio monitors and it sounds great.
Cheers Phil

Lovely arrangement and sound Charles 8-)
It just flows along with ease. Love the volume work on it too, and not overdone either.
Hugh.
