Twango - collaboration with Salvatore (Italy)

My friend Salvatore in Italy is a big Duane Eddy fan and owns the Gretsch Duane Eddy signature model G6120DE. He asked if I would play the Gypsy Jazz parts to this song, and thanks to the internet I sent him my sound recording which he mixed with his Gretsch parts and then sent it back.
Sal doesn't own a cam-corder so the video is stills of Duane Eddy and Django Reinhardt
with my acoustic solo played on my Steve Toon Montpellier jazz guitar.

The Backing track came from Ian McCutcheon's excellent new workout 17 CD.

Hope you like Twango.
Cheers Phil and Sal

Hi Phil and Sal
What a piece of Work!
Superb performances by all - Brilliant DA sound and then at times the Gretsch playing sounds very Chet Atkins.
The Gypsy Jazz guitar work is nothing short of extraordinary.
A tremendously capable Sound FIle from both of you.
Bravo!
cheers
ian

Thank you very much Ian - I bought Ian McC's Workout 17 at Shadowmania and played it several times in the car on the way home.
I was very impressed with this track as I thought it was a combination of Duane's twang, Chet style finger picking and Django's gypsy jazz.
Then a few days after, Sal contacted me (who had been sent his copy of Workout 17 ) and asked if I would do a duet with him.
He is a BIG Duane fan so I said I would try, - Took ages to learn my bit  but son Andrew Tab'd it for me otherwise I would still be struggling now. Glad it turned out well - Big thanks to Salvatore for the idea, mixing and getting that great Gretsch Duane sound.

Cheers Phil
