Had a coffee Monday afternoon with a fellow member and we were discusing remixing tracks and how they came about. Told him about this one I'd dabbled with a few months ago-- Snow Patrol's 'Chasing Cars' and The Police's ' I'l be Watching You.' Mixed and beatmapped in Sony Acid Pro 6. Try it in Adobe Audtion and see where it gets you

Try sampling Gary Newman's intro to 'Cars' , loop it and make it sing mixed with another track.

Now far be it from me to accuse you of plagiarism Lord Leary but this seems a bit familiar to me.........

...... was it not done in a remarkably similar manner in 2011 by a guy called Party Ben and used in the film "Just Go With It" ?

So it is, but as clever as it may be it's not for me, sorry.

My own thoughts on this kind of thing is that if people are looking for music to put to movies or whatever, make your own and resist from stealing the work of others. I could sit here all day and play around like this but there would be no satisfaction in it.

Still mixed by my own hand. I do have some contact with the States my friend.

If I could be arsed, I'd shove the whole tracks into Camtasia and show how I did it. It's not rocket science----Tina Turner (Golden Eye) has an intro which is emminently sample material for looping as does Gary Newman and a load of other stuff. People have to realise I have been a member of Sony Acid Planet for the last 12 years and it is the premier site for this work. It also happens to be in the States where collabs are the norm. Those who can remember 'A River of Tears' from the early 2000's mixed and posted on here--a mash up of Hans Zimmer for Thelma & Louise bleeding into Lisa Gerrard's vocal scat track for Gladiator is a prime example. this has Russel Crowe's 'Fratese' speech sampled and mixed into the track. I could go onto the 'One Day in September' mix of 9/11 done in 2001 but enough is enough. This particular person wasn't a member back then.

I've said many times I have numerous aka's; Londinium, Buffalow Girl and so on for collabs in the States. The time taken by the critic to dig shows the intensity that person is determined to undertake to scrabble around and shows himself to be vindictive. Perhaps with the message above may strongly suggest that I was in some way involved in the production---I'll leave that for him to dig the dirt to an even deeper depth and merely illustrates how vindictive the human nature can be capable of.

Don't know why I'm bothering--never complain and never explain etc. Here's said River of Tears for 2 mins at 64k. Further into the track Russell Crowe chirps up and it finishes on the guitar line. The skill is knowing what to meld with what. Thelma and Louise with Gladiator????

Find the sweet spot to pick up and away you go.

Enjoy what bit I've posted. The old timers will have heard the full version however the newcomer (singular) will probably not have.
