Fireball XL5

Here's a theme tune which I expect will bring back a few memories!

I've put the intro theme on as well to lengthen the tune as the main theme is pretty short.

Played on my Burns Marvin which I thought would be more in keeping (remembering that the Shads used their Burns in Thunderbirds)

All coments welcome

Really nice, Roger!

Is that first section in Eb?

Well done Roger - I'd often thought about putting those two themes together, as neither was really long enough on its own.

You've now convinced me that it works.

Just one criticism; as Fireball XL5 came out at the end of '62, it's really in the Strat era (rosewood fingerboard).

Nice one Rodger 8-) Lovely clean playing and you have certainly captured that sixties guitar sound that many theme tunes were made of at the time.
Hugh.

Many thanks for your replies - the first part is in Eb Jim.

Steve you're quite correct about the time period but the image of 'Thunderbirds' in my mind and the fact that the Burns seemed to suit it better convinced me.

"Twizzle"?

It actually wasn't an Anderson-stable programme, though the mistake is understandable (he directed it but wasn't the proprietor). I remembered the theme tune (and recently found that my memory of it was accurate), but it's hardly the stuff of a guitar instrumental:

"Torchy" and "Four Feather Falls"...

The "Torchy" theme has a definite 1950s feel about it - and would be equally difficult to re-cast as a guitar piece. But perhaps the two separate "Four Feather Falls" themes could be re-imagined in dramatic and/or Theme From Shane mode.

Thanks for posting the clips Jim.

Hi Roger - Yes that does bring back a few memories I remember a band playing the vocal version of this when I was on holiday as a kid.
I wanted to get up and join in. :D
Great job and smashing sound.
Cheers Phil
