eTap2HW Automation - Presets Demo

In this video I demonstrate some of the presets in my recently completed 'Automation Plus' version of the EchoTapper hardware by Piet Verbruggen. The presets are those published by Dave 'Robbo' Robinson.

Apologies in advance for the sloppy playing :?

Phil.

It's the business Phil, is this the final final version ?
This looks like a different enclosure to the one in your other thread.

Well done Phil :D

The first proper demo I've seen of a complete "auto" model 8-)

This is really turning into something special now & Ecca's valve machine is just about ready to debut as well.

I wasn't going to bother with the "automation" with mine but I think after watching this I need to do it now .....

Enjoyed listening to this Phil (nothing wrong with your playing either)

Cheers

Dick.

Hi Jim

Have a listen to the demos,s Robbo posted, same machine but recorded differently.

The Etap system is an echo machine only with no pre amp or other signal processing as found in the Quad/Alesis/Zoom/MStomp etc....

The bloke that designed the SKRM-C8 module was the same bloke that did the G20.

Ecca, these things are never the final, final version ;)

When it comes to software, especially, there are always other ideas you'd like to try and different ways to implement stuff.

The other (wood + vinyl) enclosure is just a pure manual eTap2HW unit but maybe it's got room for a valve or two?!?

Hi Jim,

As Dick said, the sound very much depends on the recording technique used. I was just trying to show some of the echoes you can get from the presets. These should be the same as Robbo's since we took his published values and used them in our code but of course he used a different method to record, which obviously gives him a superb sound - I'll have to check back to see what his method was and see if I can emulate that. Then there's just his guitar, pickups, fingers ... ;)

Phil.

There is going to be the same old 'that sound ' debate here soon. As far as echoes are concerned this seems do do the job, as does the quad, Stomp, etc etc.
We must remember that most of the sound is provided by the player not only the playing style but his use of the gear. Dave Robinson has played through my set up and sounded like Dave Robinson, I have played through Dave's kit and sounded like me.
This eTap thingy will give you the echoes(as will others) but the 'Sound' is in your hands

Take care
