MESSAGE FROM JET - TAKE A LOOK AT THIS!!

Hi Everyone,

Jet has asked me to post this on the site for him. It's a great video that a fan sent. The person who sent it says,

"This incredible machine was built as a collaborative effort between The Robert M Trammell Music Conservatory and the Sharon Wick School of Engineering at the University of Iowa. Amazingly, 97% of the machine's components came from John Deere Industries and Irrigation Equipment of Bancroft, Iowa. Yes, farm equipment! It took the team a combined 13,029 hours of set-up, alignment, calibration, and tuning before filming this video but, as you can see, it was well worth the effort. It is now on display in the Matthew Gerhard Alumni Hall at the University and is already slated to be donated to the Smithsonian."

Some of the comments on youtube seem to think that it's actually computer generated. Does anyone know for certain??

Anyway, it's brilliant - no matter how it was created. So, Jet just wanted to share the video with everyone.

Best wishes
Audrey

This clip is from animusic (www.animusic.com). If you enter 'animusic' on youtube you get quite some more of those brilliant animations. They are available on several DVDs.

Ulrich is correct. It is a digital creation and the animusic creators have nothing to do with the preamble added by the person posting the link. I'm sorry but I don't buy all of the guff that goes with the video. That has to be a hoax. The whole thing looks truly amazing but the "farm equipment" part is purely a hoax. It is quite obviously digitally produced as some of you have already suspected. The glowing bars on the xylophone really give it all away. See this:

http://www.hoax-slayer.com/incredible-m ... hine.shtml

As you will note, the Robert M. Trammell Music Conservatory and the Sharon Wick School of Engineering do not exist according to the author of the article in the link above. This is probably correct as typing "Robert M. Trammell Music Conservatory and the Sharon Wick School of Engineering" into Google brings you to the above URL. This is also apparently confirmed by the University of Iowa (see various other references on Google). If you go to their website (http://www.uiowa.edu/), there is no link to any of the above. I checked to be sure but could not find any link. If anyone else can, then I stand corrected. As far as I am concerned the whole thing is digitally produced even though it does look quite amazing. Thanks to Jet for suggesting it and Audrey for posting the original link however. It is definitely worth looking at as a digital creation. I have added the animusic link to my favourites (thanks Ulrich) and will probably have a look at some of their other digital creations too.
