Thing-a-me-Jig (video)

The Shadows recorded this on "Live at Abbey Road" and later "Life Story" albums amongst others.

I used the VOX AC30 and my Weber mass attenuator, Alesis quadraverb Q2 patch 0-39. And recorded the sound in Cubase.

The BT came from Ian McCutcheon's workout 5 available from Leo's Den

Thanks very much Ian - It's one I've known for a long time and thought I'de give it a go before the arthritis sets in :D
Hope you can manage OK without your internet connection for 2 weeks :( we tend to rely on it so much these days.
All the best... Phil

If you carry on playing like that Phil I'm gonna stamp on your fingers when we're at Scarborough in June !! ;)

Terrific playing and very enjoyable.

Thanks very much Fred, Tony and Roger for your great comments.

I love The Shadows "own compositions" and this is fun one to play if you're warmed up and have a sharp plectrum

Roger - yes looking forward to the Scarborough weekend - should be fun I'll have to start practising before I forget them all.

All the best... Phil

Phil, that was really brilliant.
I have been trying for years to play the Kilfanora Jig which you may never of, heard unless you are
an Irish music fan. It is in nine parts - never managed to get past the first three.
It is very good to hear you play the way that you do.
Keep it up.
Fred

Hi Lynn - Thank you for your nice comment on this one, very glad you liked it.
Always appreciated.

Hi Fred - I didn't know Kilfanora Jig so I looked it up on YT - The one I saw was played on a banjo and sounded pretty good.
I suppose Jig's on a strat arn't that common but Hank made a great job of it so glad I had a go at it.
Many thanks for commenting.

All the best... Phil
