Hi
Does Anyone know what strings the Burns Rostill Bass Has fitted When shipped.
I know They are D'addario Chrome flatwound
but which gauge, there are 3 alternatives.
i think mine is fitted with ECB 82 50-105 (but Not 100% sure)
i would like to try a set of these strings on my precision,i have Thomastiks on at the momment 43-100 gauge
but i would like to try a heavier gauge to see if i can get anywhere near to the sound the burns makes with d'addarios?
anyone have a definate answer?

Regards
Jay

Jay,

Don't forget that with a Digital Electronic Caliper (about £15 from Maplin) you can measure guitar strings and bass strings with extremely good accuracy.

If you put old strings aside (to make it worthwhile when you have a boiling session) the caliper will allow you to sort them into sets afterwards.

(update - when I checked yesterday, Maplin's Digital Electronic Caliper was less than £10)
